Panhellenic Values Committee
Definition
The Panhellenic Values Committee creates impactful Risk Management and Social Justice education and initiatives for the Panhellenic community. With one representative from each of our twelve incredible chapters, the committee works collaboratively to craft meaningful messages on important topics relevant to our community. In addition to education and outreach, the committee also seeks to recognize and celebrate Positive Panhellenic Spirit within our chapters.

Our Projects
February: During the month of February, the Panhellenic Values Committee ‘25 led efforts to raise awareness for National Eating Disorders Awareness Week. On February 26th, our committee placed sticky notes with encouraging messages and QR codes linking to resources about eating disorder awareness and recovery throughout the Texas Tech University campus, including buses, bathrooms, hallways, classrooms, and of course, our beautiful College Panhellenic Lodges.
To continue the conversation, Panhellenic women were encouraged to take photos and share messages of support. On February 27th, our community wore purple, a color symbolizing strength, courage, and recovery, to show solidarity and raise continued awareness. Seeing our Panhellenic community united in purple served as a powerful reminder that we walk alongside one another in support and sisterhood.
March: In March, the Panhellenic Values Committee launched a social media campaign aimed at busting common myths about sorority women and highlighting the importance of Equal Pay Day. Equal Pay Day is a symbolic day that represents how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year. It raises awareness about the gender wage gap and advocates for pay equity!
To bring this message to life, we introduced Clara, a Barbie doll representing a Texas Tech Panhellenic woman. Clara visited various organizations across campus, showcasing the strength, versatility, and intelligence that define our Panhellenic community. Although additional plans with Clara were in the works, an underground fire on campus led to an early spring break, unexpectedly cutting our initiative short.
April: In April, the Panhellenic Values Committee proudly recognized Denim Day, a campaign dedicated to raising awareness about sexual assault and supporting survivors. Throughout the month, our committee brainstormed ways to share information in an intentional, meaningful way, and ultimately hosted an educational event on Denim Day to bust myths and spark conversation around this important topic.
In front of the Chi Omega lodge, we displayed a large banner for all of Greek Circle to see, boldly encouraging our community to speak up and spread awareness. We handed out brochures, teal ribbons, and snow cones on a sunny afternoon, creating a welcoming space for education and solidarity. The brochures explained the significance of Denim Day, how to support survivors, and addressed common myths about sexual assault. The teal ribbons served as a symbol of our ongoing support for survivors, not just on Denim Day, but always.
We also partnered with the Philanthropy and Service Committee to support their drive for the Rainbow Room, an emergency resource center in Lubbock. Together, we created and sold custom Panhellenic game day buttons at the event, raising funds for a meaningful cause and bringing our community together in purpose and action.
Positive Panhellenic Spirit Chapter of the Month!
We have such amazing chapters at Texas Tech that we love to recognize and support them for all the hard work they do! Each month the Panhellenic Values committee asks our Panhellenic Committees to vote on a Chapter that has exhibited not only our College Panhellenic Values but also Positive Panhellenic Spirit!
Positive Panhellenic Spirit is mutual respect, cooperation, and support among all sororities within a Panhellenic community. It emphasizes unity over competition, encouraging members to uphold the values of inclusivity, integrity, and sisterhood across different chapters. This spirit fosters collaboration in recruitment, philanthropy, and campus involvement while discouraging negativity, exclusivity, or behavior that undermines other organizations. Promoting a culture where all Panhellenic organizations thrive together!
One Chapter a month is celebrated as our Chapter of the Month and is Recognized with a certificate, bouquet, and handmade card signed by PVC and the Panhellenic Executive Board for their hard work!
